East End success at NABC 6-a-side Tournament: posted 17/07/07
On Sunday 15th July our Girls U16s reached the final of the NABC 6-A-SIDE tournament played up at Bullocksteads. After some great displays they only lost out to a golden goal after goal-less draw against Pruhoe. Later in the day our Under 15s put in two teams team B only lost 1 game and finished runners up in their group, unfortunately not enough to qualify as the group winners only went through for the semis.
Team A however were the pride of East End going on to play complete a 7 game unbeaten run without conceding a goal in the whole tournament as they WON THE U15 AGE GROUP FINAL.
3 goal-less draws, a 2-0 and 3-0 win in the group stage were enough to put the lads through to play Heaton Hawks in the semi final, where a cheeky corner from Carl in the second half slipped in at the far post as we won 1-0.
The final against WBBC Whites was close game with EastEnd however creating all the chances, it went to 5 minutes ET and still remained 0-0 when pens were to decide the result. Bay missed their first, however so did we, Kyle then saved their next two pens and when Carl and Gaz scored Bay needed to score to stay in but put it over the bar as the lads celebrated their first silverware of the season
